22 // Level 2

In some cases, going up is not really a good thing. Like today, Alert level in Wellington went up a notch. For a while now the country lived like the old normal: no face masks, barely using hand sanitizers and still felt safe. Sure there were moments of tiny lockdowns but it’s usually in a different city from where I live. Then things turned. It’s now our city that became vulnerable to this still existing disease.

When it first made itself known, I was anxious. No one really knows anything about this virus that took over the world. All we did was cancel, well, life basically so we stay safe. It did save me a lot of money and gave me lots of free time. Anything that good, though, never lasts a long time. This time, we have to learn to live with the possibility of any contact tracing. It was easy to forget; we’ve taken for granted. Until that normalcy had been shaken and now we have to get used to a new normal, again.

Well, at least the anxiety is not there. Knowing a little bit more how to prepare, what to expect and what to do until further notices help with coping with the day to day of this new reality. Well, here we are now. There’s only way and it’s forward.
