31 // Winter Season

Winter. I used to crave winter before. The idea of snuggling up in a blanket by a fireplace, hot cocoa in hand, seemed like such a cozy experience. In reality, I’m bundled up in sweat joggers and a sweater that does no match, a heater in the middle of a studio room, and cooling peppermint tea on my desk waiting to be sipped. That’s my nightly winter. In the morning, it’s often a struggle. It’s so difficult to get up in bed afraid of the chill hitting my body.

Grass is greener, isn’t it.

One thing I know winter does well for me: it reminds me how precious summer is and to never complain about the heat when it does come.

Sorry, I really am just a sun person. Is that so wrong?
