36 // Struggling with reading this book

I can not remember the last time I sat down and read a book and be lost in it. I am currently “trying” to go through a novel by Claire North titled The Sudden Appearance of Hope, but I am struggling with every page. It was recommended by my counselor as it speaks of a story of perfection. Something I struggle a lot with. But the words drag, the images barely visible, the storyline is scrambled. Maybe I am used to the young adult genre that this style of writing is challenging to focus on.

Ain’t nothing wrong with her writing. It’s just me not used to 1) reading, 2) a new writing style. It’s good though, to be able to read a new style of storytelling. It’s good to branch out of the usual and be exposed to a different style. This way I know what kind of writing would work for me.

I’ll try to write about the book sometime before the 50th story. I want to know the lesson the book holds. For now, let me just whine about the difficulty of reading this book. Then I’ll get crackin.
