I want to do animation. Specifically, fashion animation. This world we are in made digital an important aspect of the fashion industry. Not just in marketing, but in production as well. I have always loved working digitally, especially now that we’ve got tons of new technology that makes working remotely so much easier, faster and lighter. So many post-production stages are done digitally now, hello social media. So is the pre-production stage including research, sketching, and possibly (I won’t be surprised if this is the case nowadays) pattern making.
I am very well versed in the pre-production of garments, digitally or not. It’s easy to get lost in research and development. But lately, I’ve been so interested in another new venture. Digital fashion film is something not entirely new but it hasn’t been looked at as much until recently. More and more programs have been developed to make digital fashion film possible and I want to get my hands on it.
Gladly, I was able to start doing it in university last year during my end-of-year projects. I learned to use as many digital programs as I possibly could. I regret not focusing fully on researching digital and off-shore production. That would have been handy research. Never too late to learn, right. Ughh. I remember this feeling when I first learned to use photoshop. My fingers were itching to try it. The only way to know is to start, right?
Will keep you posted.
