02 // It’s Not a Big Deal

“It’s not a big deal”

When things don’t go right, just think, “it’s not a big deal, try again next time”. It’s not the easiest advice to live by, especially for someone who has such a bad habit of perfecting oneself. I had just been rejected from a job I was particularly excited about. To be told I was a good candidate, but still not offered the job makes me wonder what else could I have done? What makes me not enough? What makes me incomplete? What else were they looking for? What else could I have done? Why was I not the right fit? Questions that can easily shake my confidence and it did affect my day negatively. My wins in the morning suddenly drowned out by the questions I can not seem to shake off my mind. While I did ask for a feedback, I sort of don’t want to know why too.

However, every time I catch my self questioning my ability I remind myself, that job is not a big deal. It will not define me nor my future in this big bad fashion world. They are not the only company looking for someone with my skill sets and personality. It is, however, telling me to look into improving myself and gain more experiences so that one day I surpass their reputation and make myself better known beyond my wildest imagination.

“It’s not a big deal”, there something bigger, better and brighter awaits.
