29 // Romanticizing Creativity

There are those who call themselves tragic geniuses where they feel cursed by their creativity. Then there are those who romanticize being creative. This one is as dangerous as the former type of geniuses. They like the idea of creative life, they create lots of amazing ideas, they formulate plans on how to execute those ideas, they prepare/buy for those ideas. But they stop when it’s time to make those ideas into reality.

I fall into that romantic trap. My brain is filled with designs I “one day” will make. Oh, how many times have I said those words already? “One day”. It’s a dangerous combination. The intention to do something, but never do it. Because the problem with that “one-day” phrase is that, those who use it forget that today could be that one day. Instead, it’s the best excuse to procrastinate and do something else. In the end, they end up watching other people live their dreams and go past their “one day”. You know what? Fuck it. We will seize the day and start making shit? Right? No more excuses.
